Our winery belongs to the D.O.P. Jumilla. This Designation of Origin is located in a very special enclave for the production of quality wines in the southeast of Spain, in an area of transit from the coast to the La Mancha plateau. We have a great difference in altitude, from 400 to 950 meters, gradually ascending in parallel valleys from south to north, having excellent conditions for organic farming. At Bodegas Alceño, we control numerous vineyards of various farmers where we carry out the controls and work that generation after generation allows us to have grapes of different varieties, altitudes, ages and soils. Our red varieties are Monastrell, Syrah, Garnacha Tintorera, Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the white ones are Sauvignon Blanc, Verdejo, Macabeo and Airén. The soils are mainly stony, calcareous, sandy loam and clayey. The rainfed cultivation is 80%, with most of the vineyards grown in bush; the yields are very low due to the low rainfall. We have cold winters and hot summers. The harvest begins in September and ends in late October.
